Be aware that (as others have noted here) a 450-watt power supply is recommended. At this price, it really is a worthwhile upgrade if your current card is an older one.Installation was easy. I've been using this card for a month now, and am very happy with the greatly-improved gaming performance I'm getting (both in frame rate, and in graphics detail). It's also quieter than my old card -- not entirely silent, but a definite improvement.
No problems at all. Shipping was fast, received email from buyer telling me when the item would be shipped. All of the contents were received just as advertised.
I have vista 64x the message I get is "display driver atikmdag has stopped responding and sucessfully recovered." This problem is giving me hell make sure before you purchase this GPU that you do a google search of "atikmdag" to make sure you will be uneffected. I just got this card pre-loaded in my Dell pc. Unfortunately I am having many problems with crashing due to driver issues.
I use GPU-Z to check the temperatures, at idle it shows it is about 53 ºC, and under heavy load it goes as high as 85º-90º, the first days I could even smell like something was burning in my comp, but now it is just fine. It also comes with a converter cable to plug it into standard PSU plugs, a DVI to VGA adapter and a DVI to HDMI converter. One downside was that this card runs pretty damn hot. I haven't even tried to overclock it (I can't imagine how high the temperatures would go) This card was an excellent upgrade from my old Radeon 9600. It runs current games very fast even with antialias.
The card easily out performs my 8800 GTX. These 4850 cards are 4870s that are clocked at a lower speed. I was quite impressed with the quality.I would love to buy a XFX 4850 but for the price savings and the ORB cooler this card was the clear choice. This also comes with the HDMI adapter and as you know with HDTV on HDMI it also has built in HD audio. I would put in online with my 3870x2 when comparing performance. The cooler looks aluminum based on the pictures but in reality the core is solid copper with aluminum fins. The Memory used is DDR3 vs DDR5 in the 4870 based on the lower clock speed. While clocking the card at a lower speed does slow down performance (frame rate) about 5% you gain the benefit of a cooler running more reliable card.As a MMO gamer reliability is job #1.
